Dedication Prayers

In July we rededicated our church site to God. Here is the dedication prayer we prayed together over the site.

We dedicate and consecrate the land upon which St Peter’s is built .

Amen. In the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

We dedicate the buildings themselves – including the church sanctuary, the halls, the Old Vicarage and the Vicarage to the glory of God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

Amen. In the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

We now set it apart for the praise and worship of the living God, the begotten Son of God, and the celebration of the sacraments of Holy Communion and Baptism.

Amen. In the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

It is our intention that only that which is pleasing to the Lord should be allowed within these hallowed walls and grounds, and we will do the utmost within our power to fulfil this declaration and our sacred responsibility.

Amen. In the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

We ask that all who minister in the name of the Lord in this place of worship will be anointed by the Holy Spirit and protected by the Lord.

Amen. In the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

We now take authority over every evil spirit in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth who came in the flesh and command any unclean spirits to depart forever from the ground upon which this church is built.

Amen. In the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

We invite the Lord of lords to send His Holy Spirit to cleanse this ground and building and to dwell over it and within its walls.

Amen. In the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
