Do you have a heart for Jesus, a passion for worship and a gift for bringing people together?
St Peter’s is looking for an inspiring and experienced Worship Pastor to lead our worship ministry during a period of maternity cover.
You will lead engaging, creative and heartfelt worship, coordinate weekly rehearsals, Sunday worship and seasonal choirs, and recruit, nurture and develop our team of volunteer musicians and worship leaders. You will also oversee the technical team responsible for delivering worship, including the sound desk, audio-visual systems and live-streaming desk, ensuring these support a high-quality and engaging worship experience. Working closely with the Vicar and wider church team, you will help us create opportunities for people of all ages to encounter God through worship.
We are looking for someone who:
Has extensive experience of leading church worship and directing bands.
Is a strong vocalist and musician, able to lead with guitar and/or piano.
Is passionate about developing worship leaders, musicians and volunteers.
Has excellent organisational and communication skills and a collaborative approach.
Has an active Christian faith and a desire to serve within a Church of England context.
At St Peter’s, our vision is to demonstrate the Love of Jesus by being a source of Spiritual Hope, Practical Help and Authentic Community. We offer a supportive team, mentoring and the opportunity to make a real difference to the worshipping life of our church.
Sunday worship attendance is essential. The remaining hours can be arranged flexibly by agreement, and we would be happy to consider applications from candidates interested in a job-share.
This is a fixed-term maternity cover appointment, expected to last up to 12 months, with the precise duration dependent on the substantive postholder’s maternity leave and return arrangements.
The appointment is subject to satisfactory references, an enhanced DBS check and a Confidential Declaration. A Genuine Occupational Requirement applies for the postholder to be a practising Christian.
To apply: Please send your CV and a covering letter to Geraldine Shiels, Operations Manager at office@loudwater.org email address by 15th of November. (We reserve the right to close the vacancy early if we receive a suitable application, so early applications are encouraged.)
